The Southern African Rights Non-Governmental Organisation Tanzania Chapter (SAHRiNGON) is a private, Voluntary, non governmental and non partisan network organisation established to ensure promotion and protection of human rights in Tanzania and across countries of Southern African.
SAHRiNGON seeks to strengthen advocacy and human rights monitoring by working with its members and other human rights activists worlwide to provide a platform for discussion and advocacy challenges facing human rights and development in Africa. SAHRiNGON is a collaborative Human Rights NGO with 84 members from different regions in Tanzania mainland and Zanzibar . Activities of SAHRiNGON are carried out by members through the coordination of the secretariat and supervision of the board of members and annual general meetings.
SAHRiNGON was formed by 11 human rights organizations based in Tanzania these include Legal Human Rights Centre (LHRC), Women in Law and Development in Africa (WILDAF), Women Legal Aid Centre (WLAC), Centre for Human Rights Promotion (CHRP), Disabled Organisation for Legal and Social economic Development (DOLASED), Tanzania Media Women Association (TAMWA), Youth Partnership Country wide (YPC), Amnesty International and Morogoro Paralegal. |
